Sarah Kurtz

I've had a passion for signing since I saw firsthand how access to effective communication changed everything for a high school friend. It is then I became determined to help others in their ability to communicate. I started learning the language through night classes and later earned a Bachelors's of Science degree in American Sign Language from William Woods University. 

Now, more than 25 years later, I have been blessed with opportunities to impact thousands of lives through a multitude of interpreting experiences as well as nearly 20 years in leadership roles. I hold a Master's-level Missouri Interpreter Certification System (MICS) and am registered to serve in Missouri and Kansas.  Personally, my husband and I live in a small farming community in Northwest Missouri, have two grown children and enjoy traveling.

As the owner of Able Hands, I am committed to leading a company of exceptionally talented Interpreters that empower the Deaf community by ensuring effective communication in all areas of life. Able Hands' team of certified and licensed Interpreters are committed to providing professional, accurate, and culturally-sensitive interpretation to meet the diverse needs of our participants.
